The Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office has been investigating an incident that was reported at 5:45 a.m. on Feb. 20, 2025. This was a report of an individual that was involved in a disturbance that had occurred in the earlier morning hours in the 100 block of 2nd Avenue West in Swea City. The report involved an intoxicated individual possibly in possession of a firearm. The Sheriff’s Office responded and identified the person to be Michael Hammond, age 38, of 106 2nd Avenue West in Swea City.
