A funeral service for Roscoe will be held Saturday, Dec. 7, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the Burt Presbyterian Church with Pastor Kent Madison officiating. The service will be livestreamed on the Burt Presbyterian Facebook Page. Burial will be in Portland Township Cemetery in rural Burt. His family will greet friends from 9:30 until service time at the church.

A funeral service for Rita Schroeder, 91, of Lone Rock, will be held Thursday, Nov. 21, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Fenton.  Burial will follow in Fenton Township Cemetery in Lone Rock. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20 at Oakcrest Funeral Services of Bancroft and will continue on Thursday one hour prior to the service at the church.

Christine Vogel, age 64 of Burt, passed away on Friday, Nov. 8, 2024, in her home surrounded by family and friends. Celebration of Life Visitation will be 3 – 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, at Lentz Funeral Home in Burt with a memorial service beginning at 4:30 p.m. Lentz Funeral Home of Burt is assisting the family.

John Michael Geishecker, 73, passed away in Fort Dodge on Nov. 2, 2024, with his sister by his side. He was born Aug.  16, 1951, to John and Beatrice Geishecker of Livermore. He was the fourth generation to be named John and got the nickname Little Johnny (despite growing to be 6’4”).

Margo Dianne (Stampka) Gray, 82, passed Nov. 1, 2024. Born Oct. 14, 1942, to John and Alice (Stoddard) Stampka. She married James A. Gray (deceased) and is survived by her children James Gray Jr. and Angela Gray,  3 step-children, 3 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 1 sister and 2 brothers-in-law and wife, 2 nieces, 2 nephews and many cousins. Preceeding her in death was her husband, her parents, 1 brother, 1 grandson and 1 nephew.

Jerald Newbrough, son of Lawrence and Bertha (Blanchard) Newbrough was born at home on July 30, 1942. Jerry died Oct. 1, 2024, at Lake City Care Center, Lake City, Minn. at the age of 82.

He graduated from Sentral High School in 1960. He went to college at the University of lowa, graduating in 1965.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 8 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Oakcrest Funeral Services of Algona and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Burial will be held at Fenton Township Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Little Al Foundation in care of JoElla’s family.

Roy Stougard, age 80, of Algona, passed away on Saturday Nov. 2, 2024, at his home, with his wife Sharon by his side.  Visitation will be 4 – 6 p.m. on  Friday at Lentz Funeral Home in Algona.  A Memorial pot-luck party will be held in the spring at which time his ashes will be interred at Riverview Cemetery in Algona.
