Letter to the Editor
Obituaries are paid announcements in the Kossuth County Advance. If you are not placing the announcement through a funeral home, payment is required prior to publication and proof of death is required. The cost is $8.50 per column inch of type (published as two columns in the Advance) plus $10 per photo. If you do not want to use our format, you will be directed to the advertising department for purchase of space in the newspaper at the regular rate of $11.90 per column inch.
You can submit an obituary that is already written by emailing
, and you can attach a photo to that email. If you want us to write the obituary from information you have, complete the form in total and submit it. Note that we do edit obituaries for consistency in styles in terms of dates, state abbreviations, paragraphs and other matters.

What do you say about the U.S. and the situation in Ukraine?
We should not be involved in any way militarily, but offer humanitarian aid to the people of Ukraine.
We have done enough militarily and should not further escalate, potentially, into a war with Russia.
We must continue to provide more weapons to Ukraine to stop Russian expansion.
This is a proxy war with Russia, and we should be in it to win it.
We should let Europe help the Ukraine, if it wants, and stay out of it.
We are on the verge of a world war, and we need to do everything we can to broker peace.
I'm not sure.
I don't care.
