Funeral Service for John Bollinger will be at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Fenton at 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 24, 2025, with   Pastor Mark Resner officiating.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. John will be laid to rest at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Fenton.

February 1, 1937 - January 18, 2025

Harold Bosworth, age 87 of Algona, died Saturday, Jan. 18, at Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 22, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Algona. Visitation began at 10 a.m. and lasted until the service. Lentz Funeral Home of Algona assisted the family.

John Glen Goche was born Sept. 25, 1934, on the family farm east of Bancroft, son of Leo and Erma (Kahler) Goche. John graduated from St. John’s Catholic High School in 1953.

John met Frances Kodet at an old-time dance in Fairmont, Minn. They were married on Nov. 14, 1958, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bechyn, Minn. They raised their three daughters and farmed four miles east of Bancroft.

A funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan.  22, 2025, at First Presbyterian Church in Irvington. The service was livestreamed on Oakcrest Funeral Services’ Facebook Page. Burial was held in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025, at Oakcrest Funeral Services in Algona.

April 10, 1936 - January 15, 2025

Carol McGuire, age 88, of Algona, passed away Wednesday Jan. 15, 2025, at her home. Visitation was 4:30-6:30 p.m.  Wednesday, Jan. 22, at the Lentz Funeral Home in Algona. Mass of Christian burial was 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 23 at the Divine Mercy Catholic Parish - St. Cecelia in Algona. Carol’s service was livestreamed on St. Cecelia’s YouTube page.

Funeral Services for Connie Manus, 77, of Algona, will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 24, at the Urbandale Baptist Church in Urbandale. A livestream of the service will be held on the Pence-Reese Facebook page.

A visitation will be held at the church on Thursday, Jan. 23, from 5 – 7 p.m.

Duane Fred Habeger, son of Fred and Charlotte Habeger, was born July 22, 1930, on a farm north of Bancroft.  He attended Bancroft Country School, Ledyard School, moved to Burt in 5th grade and was 16 when he graduated from Burt High School, May 1947. He took short courses in agriculture at Iowa State University.

Joan Mary Loss was born June 16, 1939, in Kossuth County, daughter of Joseph and Alice (Forburger) Krieps. She grew up in Wesley graduating from Wesley High School in 1957. Joan married Merle J. Loss on Aug. 7, 1957, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wesley.

Craig Lewis Steven was born on July 12, 1952, to Everett Leonard Steven and Doris Alberta (Genrich) Steven at St. Ann’s Hospital in Algona.

Dick Manske passed away on Dec. 30 at Kossuth Regional Health Center after a courageous health battle. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by people who loved him. He was 71 years old. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, and friend who made a lasting impression on everyone he met.
