ALGONA — Funeral Mass for Mary Boisjolie was celebrated on Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Cecelia Catholic Church with the Rev. Edward Girres officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
Mary Lou Boisjolie was born April 13, 1927, in Harris, the daughter of Paul and Verna (Hintz) Seeley. They later moved to Algona where she attended school and graduated from the St. Cecelia’s Academy in 1945. She went on to college and graduated from St. Catherine’s College in St. Paul, Minn. in 1949 with a degree in education.
On July 7, 1951, Mary was married to Richard Boisjolie. They moved and Mary taught school in Cambridge, Md., before the settled in Algona where Mary taught at Seton Grade School for many years.
Mary enjoyed her children and grandchildren, bird watching, gardening, cooking, quilting and dogs. She was a patient advocate at Good Samaritan Society, a Pink Lady for the Kossuth Regional Health Center Auxiliary and a faithful attendee at the Adoration Chapel at St. Cecelia Catholic Church.
Mary Boisjolie, 90, of Algona, passed away Friday, Sept. 29, 2017, at the Good Samaritan Society – Algona.
Survivors include her daughters, Nanci Boisjolie of Algona, and Susie (Joe) Muller of Algona, and sons, Paul (Carla) Boisjolie of Austin, Minnesota, and Richard (Jill) Boisjolie of Algona; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and a brother, Mark (Jill) Seeley of Algona.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard; son, Joel Boisjolie; sisters, Pat Chrischilles and Alma Dee Gergen.
