It was billed as a battle between the best two defensive football teams in Class A for the state championship at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls on Thursday, Nov. 17.
Both Bishop Garrigan and Gladbrook-Reinbeck did not disappoint the large crowd as the Rebels scored a touchdown with six minutes left to edge the black-and-gold by the score of 20-19.
“We are all incredibly frustrated and disappointed,” said Bishop Garrigan Head Coach Marty Wadle. “As sad as it is that things did not go our way in the end, the first thing I told the kids was how proud I was of them and how proud I was of what they accomplished this year.
