A funeral service for Beulah “Bea” Colwell will be held at 11 a.m., on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017, at First Presbyterian Church, Algona with the Rev. Loren Shellabarger officiating. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery, Fort Dodge. Her family will greet friends for 10 a.m., until time of service at the church on Thursday.
Beulah Ruth “Bea” Pinneke Colwell was born July 5, 1926, in Charles City, daughter of Fred R. and Etta (Petley) Gulick. Bea grew up in Charles City graduating high school there in 1943. She was married to Harry R. Pinneke on Aug. 1, 1944, at Camp Carson, Colorado Springs, Colo. 
Bea worked at Northwestern Bell until 1948, when they moved to Fort Dodge. She then worked in the optical business until her retirement in 1990. Harry preceded her in death on Oct. 29, 1991. 
She was an avid reader, she enjoyed playing cards, and dancing. She also enjoyed doing volunteer work and mentoring at Lucia Wallace School. 
She was a lifetime member of the Fort Dodge VFW, a member of the Eagles Lodge in Fort Dodge, the First Presbyterian Church in Algona and the Algona American Legion Auxiliary. On April 10, 1993 she was married to Willis F. “Bill” Colwell in Fort Dodge. He preceded her in death on March 16, 2002.
Beulah Colwell died Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017 at the Algona Manor Care Center at the age of 90. She had been a resident there since March 2013.
She is survived by two sons, Gerald Pinneke of Homestead, Fla., and Terry Pinneke and his wife, Charlotte of Omaha, Neb.; eight grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Harry and Bill; four brothers; and two sisters.
