GILMORE CITY—West Bend-Mallard had to wait two extra days due to an assist from Mother Nature to open Class 1A district tournament baseball play.

But once the purple-and-gold got their opportunity to play they made the most of it as the Wolverines defeated the Northwood-Kensett Vikings by the final score of 9-3 on Monday, July 7.
