SWEA CITY – A stint in the U.S. Army has helped Wes Gibbs relate to the students he teaches in the North Kossuth School District.
“The skills I received in the Army helps me convey to them you have to set goals. Every task can be accomplished and to never give up on it. Obviously, they love knowing I was in the military and being able to convey some personal experience for stuff they see on the news,” Gibbs said. “It helps give a little respect toward the military and for me as a teacher because they know I served the country. It is a bridge that helps you build some links to the students.”
