For the first time since its inception, there will not be a Whittemore Fun Days because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The carnival was originally scheduled for Monday, May 25 and Tuesday, May 26.
“We have to look at the well-being of the city of Whittemore, not only the residents, but the family and friends who might come to visit during the carnival during our Memorial Day,” said Dan Elbert, Whittemore mayor. “We are proud of our Memorial Day kickoff of summer. We’ve always had a nice Whittemore Day program. At our carnival, we have always had a good, clean show. We were looking forward to it.”
