We are hungry

35 Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”  John 6:35

In the story of the Exodus (Exodus 16: 2-15), while wandering in the wilderness, the people of Israel moaned and groaned because they did not have the food they wanted.  They feared dying of hunger.  They forgot how God had taken care of them.  And they complained to Moses and to God.  Their complaint seems reasonable, “We are hungry!”
Hunger, both physical hunger and spiritual hunger, are a reality for us today.  For many of us the physical hunger is relieved perhaps too easily, resulting in an obesity crisis in our nation today.  The high fat foods initially taste good, leaving us feeling full for a short while.
The Spiritual hungering is also a reality of today.
