Troy Shawn Peterson, 48, of Mason City, died Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017, at Hospice of North Iowa.
A visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017, at Fullerton Funeral Home, 123 2nd St SE, Mason City. Following visitation Troy was cremated. A memorial service will take place at a later date.
Troy was born on Feb. 11, 1968, in Forest City, to Sue Lanning and Marion Peterson. He received his education in Iowa Falls, and Algona, and graduated from Algona High School in 1987. Troy had a passion for track and was a captain of his team.
Troy enjoyed collecting NASCAR’s and listening to music. He liked entertaining and cooking for friends and family. On Feb. 2, 2001, Troy was married to the love of his life, Lisa (Schulz) Peterson. His most recent occupation was working for Winnebago Industries. Troy will be remembered for his lively spirit.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Lisa Peterson; children: Nathan, Nicholas, Sean, Zachary and Caid; grandchildren: Hannah, Hunter, Tyler, Tanner and Jaxton; sisters, Mindi Hoover Schultz and Tanya Droessler; brother, Andrew Hoover; parents: Sue Lanning, Dave Hoover, Gloria Peterson and many other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by father, Marion Peterson; step-father, Dave Lanning; maternal grandparents, Cliff and Ann Downing and paternal grandmother, Phyllis Hoover.
