Tom Zender (John Thomas Zender) passed away Aug. 17 in Phoenix, Ariz. Tom just turned 85 on Aug. 3, recently served as a leadership mentor to executives and mentored students at Arizona State University. Prior to his consulting work, Tom held executive positions at Honeywell, GE and served as President of Unity Church in Missouri. He is survived by his wife, Wendy, and sons Tommi (Evanston, Ill.) and Matt (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.)Four sisters also survive him: Gretchen, Mary, Paula and Barbara. Tom was born and grew up in Algona where he graduated from high school before attending St. Thomas College in St. Paul, Minn. He was previously married to Pam Waller, also of Algona, the mother of both sons. Tom was loved and admired by many for his kind heart, compassion and sharp business acumen.
