They count, too

A vast majority profess to hate the subject, perhaps because the ultimate reality is math is at the core of just about everyone’s financial situation. 
Over the past few weeks, the Advance has published stories from several local communities about increases in water rates, sewer rates and other such rates. Debt levies are rising in some of our towns as they have to purchase new equipment, pave or resurface streets, update storm sewers, etc. Telecommunications costs don’t go down. And overall, it seems that property valuations climb, resulting in that tax levy set by your local government or school raiding your pocket more each year.
