WB-M baseball drops season opener 16-6

EAGLE GROVE—Eagle Grove exploded for 10 runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to bust open a 6-5 contest and went onto a 16-6, six-inning season opening victory over the West Bend-Mallard Wolverines.

Each team plated two runs in the opening frame before the home scored once in the second for an early 2-1 advantage.

The visitors tallied three times in the top of the fourth to take a 5-3 lead but the Eagles tied the game up at 5-5 in the bottom of the frame.
