ALGONA—It only took a month for Lake City’s Mike Smith to win his first big sport mods’show as he moved up from dominating the hobby stock car class for the past few years.

On Thursday, May 29, Smith earned a cool $1,000 by winning the Scott Cook Memorial One-Eye Sport Mods Special at the Kossuth County Speedway.
