ALGONA HIGH—An 11-run explosion in the first inning jump-started the Algona Bulldog softball squad to a 20-2 romp in four innings over Bishop Garrigan on Wednesday, May 28 in the annual cross-town contest.

The red-and-black sent 15 batters, including back-to-back home runs, to plate 11 runs in the huge opening frame and erupted for nine more in the third stanza.
