DES MOINES—Algona sophomore Evan Allie made the finals and earned a medal in the 200-meter dash at the Class 3A boys’ state track meet held from May 16-18 inside Drake Stadium.

Allie sprinted with a time of 22.67 to place eighth in the event and after qualifying for the finals with his clocking of 22.12 in Thursday’s prelims. He earned his squad one point which left them in 41^st place in the final team standings.
