Algona grad qualifies for Ironman Triathlon
ALGONA—An Algona High School graduate has qualified for the Ironman World Championships to be held in Kona, Hawaii, on Saturday, Oct. 9.
Eric Prilipp placed eighth in his age division on May 22 in Tulsa, Okla., to qualify for the world championship. The ironman race in which he competes consists of a 2.4-mile swim followed by 112-mile bike ride and concludes with a 26.2-mile run.
