Running at state meet for first time

Lead Summary

Bishop Garrigan senior Ryan Kenyon ran at the state meet for the first time in his career and ended up in 77th place for the black-and-gold with his clocking of 18:17.7
“Ryan did a great job,” said Bishop Garrigan Coach Cassie Rowley.  “It was not his personal best but I thought he gave everything he had and ran a solid race.  He usually likes to start slow and he did that again today.
“He likes to work his way up as the race goes on and I thought he did a good job of that.  He is a veteran runner for us and he has run enough races that he knows what is going on out there.  I felt he was relaxed at the start of the race and I told him it was his last race and to go out and have fun.”
