ALGONA – Devastation has gripped Ste. Jeanne de Chantal parishes and schools in Haiti. St. Cecelia Catholic Church and neighboring parishes have risen to the challenge to help its twin church 1,000s of miles away.
“Since Hurricane Matthew has taken so many of their lives, destroyed their crops, homes, schools and churches, we, as their family, personally share in their struggles,” said Kim Dahlhauser, who attends St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Algona. “Now, our mission is critical because it is to help them survive by giving them aid to secure food, safe water, medicine and shelter. It has been incredible witnessing the generosity of our local community. Everyone has united to help our extended family in and around Chantal so they can endure and eventually rebuild and develop.”
