ALGONA — Verla Joyce Beisch was born July 7, 1932, in Artesian, S.D., daughter of Orville and Theone (Flagle) Barber. As a young child, her family lived in Graettinger for a couple of years, moving to Whittemore where she graduated high school. Verla was married to Mervyn Beisch on Oct. 18, 1951, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Whittemore.

BURT — EuClaire Ernest Meyer was born Aug. 28, 1935, in Ledyard, son of Ernest E. and Ella (Nemitz) Meyer. He grew up on a farm Southeast of Burt, attending country school graduating from Burt High School in 1952. Claire was baptized, confirmed, and married at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Burt.

ALGONA — Eugene Meyer, age 87 of Algona, formerly of Burt, passed away Monday, Nov. 12, at the Algona Manor. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 17 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Algona with the Rev. Eric Hauan officiating. Burial will take place at Burt Township Cemetery in Burt. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of services.

Wilmer "Speed" Bachman, 87, passed away Sunday, Nov. 4, at West Bend Health and Rehab in West Bend. A Mass of Christian Burial was held 10:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 9, at Saints Peter & Paul’s Catholic Church in West Bend. Burial with military honors followed at the West Bend Cemetery.

Visiation for Allen Hantelman, 71, of Victoria, Texas, formerly of Fenton, was held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 10, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Fairville with burial to follow at St. Luke’s Lutheran Cemetery with full military honors by Fenton American Legion Post. Henry-Olson Funeral Home of Fenton is in charge of arrangements.

Pastor John Frederick Planz was born Dec. 30, 1927, in Unionville, Michigan, son of William and Louise (Weitendorf) Planz. John graduated from Woden High School. After high school he attended Wartburg College where he majored in Sociology. He then went on to Dana College in Blair, Neb. and began seminarian training. He met the love of his life, Elsie M. Jorgensen, while in Blair, Neb. They moved to Fremont, Neb. where John finished out his seminarian training.

A funeral service for Helen Limbaugh was held Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Church in Algona. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery in Algona.
