Mary Randall, 82, of Sheffield and formerly of Clive, passed away Thursday, Dec. 6, at the Sheffield Care Center.    

Larry Olson

Larry E. Olson, 80, Algona, passed away Monday, Dec. 10, at the Algona Manor Care Center in Algona. Funeral services were at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 12, at the Lentz Funeral Home, Algona, with the Rev. David Grindberg officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Britt. Military rites will be conducted by the VFW Post #2541 and the Haag-Turner American Legion Post #90 of Algona. Visitation was at 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at Lentz Funeral Home.

Kyle Briggs

Kyle Lee Briggs, 24, Denver, passed away Friday, Dec. 7, in a car accident near Pocahontas. He was born June 2, 1994, in Algona, the son of Lori Briggs. He grew up in Humboldt and graduated from Humboldt High School in 2013.
After his schooling he worked several different jobs including the Humboldt County Dragway, putting up hog confinements, and driving truck for a medical supply company.

Karen J. Bloodhart

Karen J. Bloodhart, 79, River Falls, Wis., and formerly of Algona, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 4.
Born in Algona, on July 6, 1939, Karen was the youngest of the five children of Harm and Florence (Banwart) Helmers. She graduated from Algona High School and the surgical technician program at the University of Iowa.

Julie Thompson

Julie Thompson, 55, Algona, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 8, at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona. Visitation was at the Lentz Funeral Home, Algona. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Algona at a later date.

Walter Piatt

A funeral service for Walter Piatt, 74, was held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 5, at the United Methodist Church, West Bend. Visitation was from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 4, at the church.
Walter "Wid" Winston Piatt was born Sept. 6, 1944, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of, Denver and Virginia (Watson) Piatt. He grew up in Mt. Pleasant and graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1963. Walter enlisted in the Navy in 1963 and was honorably discharged in 1965.

Jeffrey Gregg

Jeffrey Gregg, age 59, of Woden and formerly of Algona, passed away Friday, Nov. 30, 2018, at the Hancock Memorial Hospital, Britt. Funeral services are 3 p.m., Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church in Algona, with the Rev. Dr. Loren Shellabarger officiating. Visitation is 1:30 p.m. until service time on Saturday at the church.

Don Krebsbach

Don Krebsbach, 76, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Algona, passed away Nov. 18, 2018. Donald Eugene was born Feb. 10, 1942, the son of Jack and Mary (Lynch) Krebsbach of Ledyard.

Dianne Chambers

Dianne Chambers, 83, died on Nov. 26, 2018, at Hancock County Health Systems, Britt. A funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 30 at the United Methodist Church, Corwith. Kristi Ann (Riebhoff) Buchanan

Kristi Ann (Riebhoff) Buchanan was born Dec. 27, 1963, in Algona to Don Riebhoff and Anne Russell. Kris grew up in Algona and graduated from Algona High School in 1982. She later moved to Des Moines, where she worked her way up from secretary to bookkeeper for the Master Builders of Iowa.

Vera Geigel

Vera Geigel, age 91, of Kansas City and formerly of Iowa City passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2018, at Loch Haven Nursing Home in Macon, Mo. Graveside services were held Saturday, Nov. 24 at Riverview Cemetery in Algona with the Rev. Cynthia Finn officiating.

Willis 'Bill' Dean Ressler

Willis “Bill” Dean Ressler, 92, passed away peacefully on Nov. 23, 2018, at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Fergus Falls, Minn. There is a memorial service at the Federated Church in Fergus Falls on Thursday, Nov. 29 at 11 a.m.

Natalie Nadine (Tindall) Shipman was born Aug. 16, 1932, in Carbon near Corning. The family moved to the Corwith area in 1942. She was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in LuVerne.

Fern Clella Furst

Fern C. Furst, 85, of Fort Dodge, formerly of Humboldt, passed away Monday evening, Nov. 12, 2018, at Friendship Haven in Fort Dodge.
She was born Sept. 26, 1933, in Bancroft, the daughter of Fred and Charlotte (Bond) Habeger. She spent her early years on a farm near Bancroft and attended country school near Bancroft. The family later moved to Burt, and she graduated from Burt High School in 1951. She then graduated from Iowa State Teacher’s College in Cedar Falls.

Dr. Paul Allan Tapper

CELINA, Texas — Dr. Paul Allan Tapper of Celina, Texas, formerly of Buffalo Center, passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack on Aug. 20. A memorial service was held Aug. 25, in Celina, Texas. Paul, the son of Donald and Norma Tapper, was born Aug. 21, 1951.
He grew up on the family farm until leaving for Dordt College in Sioux Center, where he met and wedded his wife, Linda, in 1972. He and Linda had two children, Michelle and Michael.
