Patricia Voyles, 86, of Algona, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016, at Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona. Memorial services were held on Friday, Sept. 23, at the First United Methodist Church in Algona.
Patricia Rose Phillips, the daughter of Roger Baily and Blanche Mae (Barwick) Phillips, was born on Feb. 10, 1930, in Ottumwa. She graduated from Algona High School in 1947.

Sister Mary Catherine Wingert, PBVM, 92, died on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016, at Mt. Loretto Motherhouse, Dubuque.
Funeral services were Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2016, at Mt. Loretto Sacred Heart Chapel, with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Key West.

Merwyn ‘Mert’ Hurlburt, age 78, of Lone Rock, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016, at the Hawkeye Care Center in Bancroft. Funeral services were Wednesday at Lone Rock Presbyterian Church in Lone Rock with Rev. Walter Reemtsma officiating. Burial will be in Fenton Township Cemetery.

ALGONA — A funeral Mass for Sheryl L. Plathe was held on Friday, Sept. 30, 2016, at St. Cecelia Catholic Church with Father Edward M. Girres and Reverend Mr. Bill Black officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.

Rosemary Laing, 85, of Algona died Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016, at her home in Algona. Graveside funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016, at the East Lawn Cemetery in Algona with Reverend Mr. William Black officiating. Marilyn Ann PeCoy, of Britt, formerly from Algona, died Friday, Sept. 16, 2016, at the Hancock County Hospital in Britt at the age of 84.
Marilyn was born on Aug. 10, 1932, in Mason City, Iowa, the daughter of Harold and Clara Price. She spent her early years in Mason City and Algona before her family finally settled in Wesley where she graduated from the Wesley High School in 1950.

FENTON — A funeral service for Ruby Jeanette Jentz, 91, of Fenton, was held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Burt at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 23, 2016, with Pastor Russell Reimers officiating. Interment followed at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Fenton.
Ruby Jentz peacefully passed away Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016, at Heartland Care Center in Marcus. She was the daughter of Chris and Katie (Rinkenberger) Alt and was born December 30, 1924. She grew up in the Algona area.

Funeral Mass for Ann King will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 30, 2016, at St. Cecelia Catholic Church with the Rev. Edward Girres officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016, from 4-7 p.m. with a rosary at 4 p.m. and a scripture prayer service at 7 p.m. at Oakcrest Funeral Services.

Ruth Briggs, age 93, of Algona, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 1, at St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Algona, with Rev. Ed Girres celebrating.
Private family burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery in Algona. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m., until service time Saturday at the church.
