A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 27, 2017, St. John’s Catholic Church, Bancroft.  Visitation will also be held on Friday prior to the mass, from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. at Oakcrest Funeral Services, Bancroft.

Troy Shawn Peterson, 48, of Mason City, died Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017, at Hospice of North Iowa.
A visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017, at Fullerton Funeral Home, 123 2nd St SE, Mason City.  Following visitation Troy was cremated. A memorial service will take place at a later date.

Dorothy Butterfield, 71, of Algona died Friday, Jan. 20, 2017, at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona.

Bruce Shore graduated from Algona High School in 1945. He passed away on Jan. 20 in Albany, N.Y. Arrangements are being handled by Fredenall Funeral Home in Altamont, N.Y. His burial is on Friday Jan. 27, at the Saratoga National Cemetery.
A dual memorial service with his brother, Jess, will be held in Algona on June 24.

Jess Shore graduated from Algona High School in 1954. He passed away on Jan. 2, 2017, in Manchester, Tenn. The Neptune Society in Nashville is handling the arrangements.
A dual memorial service with his brother, Bruce, will be held in Algona on June 24.

Hayes “Elgin” Allen of Algona passed away peacefully on Jan. 10, 2017, at age 91, surrounded by his loving family.  
His quick smile, calming presence and warm guidance will be missed by all.  Visitation was held at Oakcrest Funeral Services on Friday, Jan. 13, from 4-7 p.m. and services were held Saturday, Jan. 14, at 10:30 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Larry J. Taylor, 66, died peacefully, after a courageous battle against cancer, on Friday, Jan. 13, 2017, surrounded by his family.
Larry Jon Taylor, the son of Mitch J. and Lorraine I. (Willrett) Taylor was born Sept. 13, 1950, in Algona. He grew up attending Algona schools and graduated from Algona High School in 1969.

A funeral service for Beulah “Bea” Colwell will be held at 11 a.m., on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017, at First Presbyterian Church, Algona with the Rev. Loren Shellabarger officiating. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery, Fort Dodge. Her family will greet friends for 10 a.m., until time of service at the church on Thursday.

John White, age 56, of Livermore passed away on Jan. 10, 2017, at his home.  Memorial services were at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 14, at Faith United Methodist Church in Livermore with Dee Coleman officiating.

Dale Marvin Helmers, age 87, died peacefully at Kossuth Regional Health Center on Jan. 4, 2017. Funeral services will be Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017 at 1:30 p.m., at the Ramsey Reformed Church of rural Titonka, Iowa. 
Visitation will be Friday evening Jan. 6, 2017, from 4-7 p.m., at Oakcrest Funeral Services in Titonka and one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Burial will be at the Buffalo Township Cemetery near Titonka.

Curtis P. Haahr the son of Peter and Eleonora (Johansen) Haahr was born Jan. 18, 1921, in Ringsted, Iowa. He died on Sunday, Dec. 25, 2016, at the Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville, at the age of 95.

ALGONA — A funeral Mass for Richard C. Buscher, 83, of Algona, was held on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017, at 11 a.m., at St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Algona.  Burial was in Calvary Cemetery with a Flag Presentation Ceremony conducted by the Hagg-Turner American Legion Post No. 90 and the V.F.W. Post No. 2541 of Algona.
