Frank Joseph Schemmel was born on Sept. 1, 1950, in Fort Dodge, the son of John and Lorraine (Hatten) Schemmel. In his younger years he attended St. John’s Catholic School but joined the Marines before graduating. While in the Marines he obtained his G.E.D. and took some college courses.

Patricia Connor, age 61, of Livermore, passed away Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017, at the Paula J Baber Hospice House in Fort Dodge. 
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 18, at 11 a.m., at Faith United Methodist Church in Livermore.  Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m., Friday at the Lentz Funeral Home in Livermore.

Robert “Bob” Lane, 87, of Renwick died Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at his home near Renwick. Funeral services were celebrated on Monday, March 13, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at the Renwick United Methodist Church with Reverend Lynn Gardner officiating. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery with military honors provided by the Harvey-McPeak American Legion Post No. 289 of Renwick.

A funeral service for Evelyn Hunt, 92, of Algona, was held 10:30 Monday, March 13, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church in Algona with the Rev. Michael Orthel officiating. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery, Algona.

Patricia Lea Maahs came into this world on July 24th, 1935. She was the daughter of Arthur and Verna Obrecht who raised and educated her in Algona. In 1954, she was joined in marriage to Herbert Hensley and to this marriage she became the mother to three children, Kevin, Kimberly and Bruce. In 1971, she married Robert Maahs and with this union, Maahs Auction Service became something the couple took pride in.

Maynard Koppen passed away on Feb. 3, 2017, at Fort Dodge.
Maynard Peter Koppen, the son of Peter L. and Gertrude (Becker) Koppen, was born July 2, 1922, at Lakota, Iowa.
He graduated as valedictorian of the Lakota High School class of 1941. Maynard served in the United States Army during World War II, serving in the trenches for which he received four bronze battle stars.

Funeral Mass for Donald Preuschl was celebrated on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wesley with the Rev. Peter Nguyen presiding. Burial was in the St. Benedict Cemetery.
Donald Lawrence Preuschl was born Nov. 4, 1937, in St. Benedict, the son of John “Hans” and Louise (Arend) Preuschl. He attended school in LuVerne and graduated from the LuVerne High School in 1955.

Funeral Mass for Kenneth Lallier was celebrated at 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, March 2, 2017, at St. Cecelia Catholic Church with the Rev. Edward Girres officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery. Flag presentation was by the V.F.W. Post No. 2541 of Algona.

A funeral Mass will be held for Bernard Reilly at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 2, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ledyard.  Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at Oakcrest Funeral Services, Bancroft, with A Knights of Columbus Rosary starting at 4 p.m.  Interment with military honors will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Ledyard.

TITONKA — A funeral for Darlene Brandt, 82, of Rochester, Minn., formerly of Titonka, will be held on Saturday, March 4, at 11 a.m., at the First Presbyterian Church in Lakota. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Friday, March 3, at Winter Funeral Home in Buffalo Center and will continue on hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.

Sandra Myers, age 62, of Renwick, passed away on Feb. 23, 2017, at her home.  Funeral services were held on Monday, Feb. 27, at the Ubben-Lentz Funeral Home in Humboldt, with Don Connors officiating.  Burial was held in the Union Cemetery in Humboldt.
