Lyman “Lee” Brown, Sr., age 74, of Jasper, Minn., died peacefully on Thursday, July 13, 2017, at his home in Jasper.  A gathering of family and friends was held on Wednesday, July 19, from 2-4 p.m., at the Jasper Community Center in Jasper.  
A burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Jasper.  Arrangements are through the Hartquist Funeral Home – Pipestone Chapel.

FENTON  —  Dr. Richard A. Petersen, age 74, passed away at his home in Fenton on July 11, 2017.
Services were held on Saturday, July 15, 2017. Burial will be at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Fenton at a later date.

ALGONA — Ruth Frideres, age 71 of Algona, passed away Friday, July 14, 2017, at her home.
Mass of the Christian Burial took place on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at 11 a.m., at St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Algona with Rev. Jeremy Wind celebrating. Burial took place in St. Joseph Cemetery in St. Joe. Visitation was held on Monday from 4-7 p.m., with a 4 p.m. Rosary and a 7 p.m., Scripture Service at St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Algona.

ALGONA — A funeral Mass for Ann Froehlich was held on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at 2 p.m., at St. Cecelia Catholic Church, Algona with the Rev. Edward Girres and the Rev. Mr. William Black officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Algona.

ALGONA — Funeral Mass for Richard “Dick” Ringsdorf was celebrated on Monday, July 10, 2017, at 10 a.m. at St. Cecelia Catholic Church with the Rev. Jeremy Wind officiating. Burial was at Calvary Cemetery with military honors conducted by V.F.W. Post #2541 and American Legion Hagg-Turner Post #90 of Algona.

Carroll John Sabin, the son of Leo Thomas and Dorothy Viola (Jennings) Sabin, was born April 18, 1945, in Algona.  He was raised and educated in Algona and moved to Eagle Grove in 1979.

Jacqueline D. Hutchinson, 80, of Coralville, passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2017, at her home.  Per her request there will be no services.
Jacqueline was born on Aug. 27, 1936, to Marvin and Dorothy Landhuis Vander Waal in Hospers. She graduated from Algona High School in 1954 and later University of Northern Iowa in 1958.

Louise Phillips, who was born in Algona, went to be with the Lord on July 3, 2017, at Scottish Rite Park.
A memorial service was held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 8, 2017, at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Des Moines. 
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Scottish Rite Health Care Center or St. Croix Hospice.

Jerald Dale Garman was born May 8, 1939, in Burt, the youngest of three sons of William R. and Ruth C. (Kearns) Garman. He grew up in Burt, graduating from Burt High School in 1957 where Jerry was captain of both the basketball and baseball teams. He attended Upper Iowa University on a baseball scholarship.  

Feb. 10, 1948 — May 18, 2017
 
Jill Jensen, 69, passed away on May 18, 2017, at her home in LaCrosse, Wis.
Family gravesite memorial will be held at a later date. Interment will be at Blakjer Cemetery in Fenton.
Jill was born on Feb. 10, 1948, to Ted and Carville Jensen. Jill was trained as a medical secretary, and spent most of her career working in that field at Gunderson Clinic in LaCrosse.
