In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Grimm family to help them pay it forward, honoring the support they received from various organizations.
A private family service was held. The family invites you to celebrate Walker’s life at his benefit, taking place at Algona High School on Nov. 23, 2024, from 2 to 7 p.m.
Walker Daniel Grimm… that’s what my bracelet says anyways. I think my actual name is probably Baby Walker, Tex, or Look-At-Those-CHEEKS! I came into this world on May 21, 2024. I planted my feet, squared up and I fought the good fight against Congenital Heart Disease for 161 days. I passed away comfortably and at peace in Mom and Dad’s arms on Oct. 28, 2024.
I had a few passions in life. First and foremost, I ADORED my family. Days spent with Mom, Dad, Casey and Sunday were days for the record book! My horsey balloon lit up my world along with my stuffy friends, the Tomato and Bug. I spent countless hours listening to music on our speaker and put an easy 100,000 miles on my mobile. I never missed a college football Saturday cheering on the Hawkeyes and took the best naps in the arms of people who loved me most.
I am survived by my loving parents Shane and Elisabeth Grimm; my older siblings, Casey and Sunday; along with my grandparents, Randy Grimm, Tracie (Jeff Elbert) Hoch, Nick (Jill) Hoch; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.
I was welcomed into Heaven by my grandma Mary Ellen Grimm; great-grandmas Lynne, Prudy, Michelle, Bea and Katherine; great-grandpas, Daniel and Wayne; great-uncle Bob and some of my very special Heart Baby friends from Children’s Minnesota.
Our family would like to personally thank the staff at Children’s Minnesota for their dedication to Walker and for loving him like their own. They will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
