Ronald Peck, age 87, of Algona, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2022, at the West Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center in West Bend. Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church in Algona. Burial was in East Lawn Cemetery in Algona. Visitation was 4 – 7 p.m. Sunday at Lentz Funeral Home in Algona.
Ronald Clark Peck, the son of Harvey and Myrtle (Hannegan) Peck, was born on Aug. 16, 1935, on the farm near Algona. On Dec. 5, 1954, Ron was united in marriage with Priscilla Ferden in West Bend, they were later divorced in 1980. He served four years in the Iowa Army National Guard in Algona. Ron had owned Redi Mix Plants, worked at Algona Livestock and was an Auctioneer for many years. He enjoyed his Des Moines Police Auctions as well as his Auction Building Consignment sales. Ron also enjoyed moving snow with his loader, helping others and volunteering his time to help raise money for the FFA and other organizations.
Left to cherish Ron’s memory is his ex-wife, Priscilla Peck of Algona; daughters, Rhonda Higgs of Westminster, Colo. and Carmela (Daniel) Roethler of Lee’s Summit, Mo.; grandsons, Nathan Higgs Sr. of Broomfield, Colo., Justin Scott of Algona and Nicholas Scott of Lee’s Summit, Mo.; and great-grandson, Nathan Higgs Jr. of Arbada, Colo. He was preceded in death by his parents.
