Ramona Irene Henry, 68, of Algona, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, Jan. 19, 2025. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Ramona’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A visitation was held in her honor on Friday, Jan. 24 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Lentz Funeral Home in Algona.
Ramona was born on Feb. 6, 1956, in Algona to Raymond Clemet and Barbara Irene (Leinen) Goodman. She graduated from Algona High School in 1974, and furthered her education at Iowa Lakes Community College. Ramona served in the Navy until the birth of her first child, Allison. On Dec. 30, 2005, she married Mark Henry in Algona. Ramona worked and retired as a factory assembler at Snap-on Tools.
Ramona had a passion for life and enjoyed the simple pleasures it offered. Her grandchildren were a great source of joy and she cherished moments spent with them. Ramona loved shelling on Sanibel Island, going on rock and fossil hunts, reading, taking walks, and relaxing with her beloved cats. She will always be remembered for her playful spirit, natural artistic abilities, hilarious pranks, love of Diet Pepsi and her gift for storytelling.
Ramona leaves behind her husband, Mark Henry, her children, Allison (Clark) Christensen and Jason (Anna) Bilyeu; and her cherished grandchildren: Aaron, Caleb, Nick, Jersey and Alivia. She is also survived by her sisters Diane, Patti and Joyce, along with many nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
Ramona was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Barbara Goodman and her cherished cat Ollie.
Her love, laughter and zest for life will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
