Milton Harry Wilhelm

Milton Wilhelm, age 90 of Lu Verne, passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021 at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona. Milt’s visitation, funeral and luncheon were open to the public. Services were held at 10:30 a.m. June 5, at Zion Lutheran Church in Lu Verne, with burial in the Lu Verne Cemetery. Visitation was held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Church. Services were live streamed on the Zion Lutheran Lu Verne FaceBook page.
Milton Harry Wilhelm, the son of Albert and Della (Kienker) Wilhelm, was born on Sept. 11, 1930, in Johnson, Neb. Milt graduated from Vernon Consolidated High School in 1947. On Feb. 8, 1951, he was united in marriage to Jolene Sanford in Badger. While raising their family on the farm, Milt also did plumbing, heating and carpentry.
Milt is survived by his children, Linda Schwan of Walnut Creek, Calif., Jennifer Bilstad of Somers, Becky (Ed) Stewart of Gowrie, Joni (Randy) Dvorak of Bagely, Paula (Doug) Stanek of Fort Dodge, Patti (Jack) Hjelmeland of Harmony, Minn. and David (Beth) Wilhelm of Hardy; twenty-five grandchildren; forty great -grandchildren; brothers, Loren (Betty) Wilhelm of Boone, Ken (Susan) Wilhelm of Grand Rapids, Mich. and Ron (Theresa) Wilhelm of Lincoln, Neb.; sisters, Margaret Hippen of Ames, Donna (Roger) Day of Humboldt, Elaine Johnson of Urbandale and Sharon McCormick of Rochester, Mich., sister-in-law, Joanne Melling of Fort Dodge, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jolene; son-in-law, Tom Bilstad; three grandsons; four sisters and four brothers.
