A funeral service for Judy Decker, 80, of Algona, will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 24, 2023, at First United Methodist Church in Algona. Burial will follow at East Lawn Cemetery in Algona. Visitation will take place 4 to 6 p.m., Thursday, March 23 at Oakcrest Funeral Services in Algona.

Judy Ann Decker, the daughter of Art and Evelyn (Nickerson) Alexander, was born June 5, 1942, in Algona. Judy graduated from Algona High School with the class of 1960. On July 10, 1960 she was united in marriage to Dwight Decker at the Open Bible Church in Swea City. Judy worked at Snap-on Tools for 11 years and then worked for Pioneer for 25 years. She officially retired in 2004.

Judy enjoyed playing cards and baking goodies for her grandchildren. She was known for making her pom pom balls and cherry delight. Judy was a member of the United Methodist Church and volunteered throughout the church, especially for her church circle and mission committee.

Judy died on March 20 at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, at the age of 80.

Survivors include her children, Robbie Decker of Algona and his children, Jamie (Chad), Jesse (Sarah) and Justin (Jessie); Troy (Megan) Decker of Algona and their children, Katy (Timothy), Mason, Tyler and Morgan; and Angela (Nate) Stewart of Dike and their children, Mary, Lily, and Charlie; great-grandchildren Sam, Evan, Kami, Weston, Max and Emery; and step-grandchildren, Heather (Mike), Ashley (Chris) and Brent (Tara); step-great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Bailey, Brielle, Nathan, Logan, Alexander, Natalie and Caden.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Dwight Decker; her parents; son, Todd Decker; sibling, Joan (Jim) Brundage; daughter-in-law, Barb Decker; and a great-grandson Lucas Stoulil.
