Jason P. Hinrichsen, son of Paul and Orlene (Spencer) Hinrichsen, was born in Blue Earth, Minnesota on Aug. 29, 1948. He passed away on Oct. 7, 2024, at Mercy One Hospital in Sioux City at the age of 76. A celebration of his life was held from 10-11 a.m., followed by food and fellowship on Saturday, Oct. 12 at the Swea City Open Bible Church.

Jason started welding when he was 16 years-old and continued to perfect and perform that skill over the next 45 years at a variety of locations. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He then returned to the Swea City area where he lived until his death.

Jason enjoyed hunting; especially for pheasant, deer and ducks. He enjoyed having many collections from the items he would find at garage and estate sales, such as art, coins, guns and fishing lures. One of his many talents was woodworking, he made many stagecoach models and furniture. Jason was a cowboy at heart. He loved his family deeply with his big heart and kindness. His family admired him for his ability to accept and not judge any person.
