Dianna passed away peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2023, at State Center Care Initiatives in State Center where she had been on hospice care since July 2022.   

Dianna was born on Oct. 19, 1947, to Alvin and Delva Pedersen. She graduated from Algona High School in 1965 and following graduation attended Mankato Commercial College in Minn. She enlisted in the United States Air Force in February 1968, quickly earning the rank of Sergeant. Dianna was honorably discharged from the Air Force in December 1971, after serving in Thailand during the Vietnam War.

After returning to the USA, she attended Edmonds Community College in Lynwood, Wash. where she received an Associate of Arts Degree in 1974. Her years in the Seattle area held some of her fondest memories. Dianna completed her college education at Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. Dianna moved to Des Moines following her graduation from Franklin University and worked in the business offices at the VA Hospital for many years.  Dianna’s love and compassion for animals, especially dogs, was evidenced by her longtime support of the ASPCA.

Dianna is survived and will be missed by her siblings: Dale Pedersen and wife Kathy, Waukee; Wayne Pedersen and wife Barb, Ames; Linda Martin and husband Barry, Dallas, Texas. Nieces and nephews: Chad Pedersen and wife Jessica, Golden Valley, Minn.; Laura Pedersen and Fiancé Taylor Mouser, Ankeny; Anna Hobby, and husband Walker and great-niece, Hunter Hobby, San Diego, Calif.  and Brady Martin, Broomfield, Colo.
