We are sad to announce the passing of Chevelle “Chevy”  Awe on the morning of Dec. 19 2023, in Mason City at the age of 44 from a cardiac event.

Chevelle was an incredibly unique person who touched the lives of many people, through his many passions and hobbies he created lasting connections. He was a chef, musician, artist, gamer, lifelong Raiders fan, writer,  anime fan and extremely creative with building and crafting projects. He loved performing and was a part of many bands over the years. He was very accepting of people as they are and had many friends and loved ones he considered family because of that.

He is survived by his children Christal Awe, Konner Awe, Chevelle Awe Jr. and Korbin Awe; Mother Elaine (Awe) Tyler, sister Courtney (Awe) Vasquez, brother Cody Awe and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his grandmother Daisy Darlene Awe Schellsmidt, great-aunt Viola Awe, great-uncle Charles Spillet and his daughter Angelica Awe.

A celebration of life was held at the VFW on Jan. 20, 2024, from 1-5 p.m. The family is also planning a jam session send off in April. Anyone wanting to give cards there will be a place at the memorial for cards to be left for the family.
