Funeral services for Cherann Eden were held on Monday, March 11, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at the Wesley Community Church in Wesley. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery in Wesley.

Cherann Marie Eden was born in Algona on Feb. 19, 1941, the daughter of August and Dorothy (Knudsen) Bernau. She graduated in 1959, from Burt High School and attended the Professional Business Institute to become a dental assistant. She worked as a dental assistant in Blue Earth, Minn. and later in Britt. In 1964, God brought Clinton Eden into her life and on April 24, 1965, they were married in the Presbyterian Church in Blue Earth, Minn. She became a joint partner in their farming operation and together they raised four wonderful children. In 1990, she graduated from Hamilton Business School in Mason City where she studied business and accounting.

She was a Sunday School teacher at both Wesley United Methodist Church and Doan United Methodist Church. She later became an active member in the Wesley Community Church where she was a founding member. Cherann was very appreciative and thankful of the support she received from her family, her church family, and her friends.

In 1998, she and Clinton retired to Algona. They felt fortunate to have all of their children living in Kossuth County and enjoyed following their grandchildren’s activities. In life, she most enjoyed her time spent with family. She looked forward to her weekly sewing nights with her daughters and granddaughters.

Cherann died peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, March 6 at Mercy Medical Center in Mason City at the age of 83.

She is survived by her four children, Bonita Meyer, Kristi Eden, Gregory Eden, Dwayne Eden and their families; and two sisters, Karen Boyken and Deanna Sloan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton on Nov. 25, 2020; her parents, August and Dorothy; and her parents-in-law, Bennie and Ella Eden.
