With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our wonderful mother, Barbara Metzger. She passed away peacefully on Saturday morning Jan. 4, 2025, surrounded by loved ones at the Good Samaritan Society-Algona.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, Jan. 10 at 10:30 a.m. at Divine Mercy Catholic Parish – St. Cecelia Catholic Church. A vigil service will be held for Barbara on Thursday, Jan. 9 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Oakcrest Funeral Services. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. We invite all who knew and loved her to join us in honoring her remarkable life and legacy.
Barbara was a bright light in all our lives, known for her big heart and unwavering kindness. She had a unique gift for making everyone feel special and her laughter was contagious. Barbara found her greatest joy in her family and friends. Her unwavering love, wisdom and kindness will be deeply missed but forever cherished.
A devoted wife to Clarence, a loving mother to Julie, Frank, John and Ed and a cherished grandmother to Jill, Jeff, Gracie, Daniel, Sara, Lisa, Taylor, Sam, Lindsay and great-grandchildren Preston, Julian, Max, Carter, Kinley, Sophie, Kolten, Kiera, Kellen, Gemma and Davis.
Barbara touched countless lives with her generous spirit. Though we are heartbroken, we are comforted by the beautiful memories she leaves behind. She will remain in our hearts forever.
