Visitation was held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11 at Divine Mercy Parish - Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in West Bend and a Knights of Columbus Rosary began at 4 p.m.

Burial will be in the Lu Verne Township Cemetery in Lu Verne. Visitation will be held from 9-11  a.m. on Thursday morning at the church.

Caroline’s Spirit joined the Light of Peace on July 25, 2023,  in Waterloo.

Caroline Tharp of Waterloo was born in Algona April 19, 1941, to Glenn Shore and Mertie (Currier) Shore as the youngest of six children.

From Algona High School Class of 1959, she went on to Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls earning her BA, and she later achieved her Master’s degree from UNI in Early Childhood Education.

Conrad Joseph Kunkel July 21, 1931 - September 23, 2023

Conrad Joseph Kunkel was the son of Ben and Caroline (Lang) Kunkel and was born July 21, 1931, and was raised on a farm south of St. Benedict. He attended St. Benedict Catholic School through the 11th grade.  In his younger years he was an altar boy for daily Masses. He worked hard on the farm, milking cows, working the fields, failing hay and all the fun things that go along with farming.

A funeral service for Officer Kevin Cram was held Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at the Algona High School gymnasium, 600 South Hale Street, Algona. A private graveside service was held. A public visitation was held on Tuesday, Sept. 19 from 4  to 8 p.m. at the Ed and Betty Wilcox Performing Arts Center.

Madelyn “Torch” Mary Duitscher 96, died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2023, at the Rockwell Community Nursing Home, in Rockwell.

A celebration of life gathering will be held Thursday Sept. 21 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Ward Van Slyke Colonial Chapel 310 1st Ave. North Clear Lake.  Inurnment will be in Ventura Cemetery.

Brian Dean Dotson was born Nov. 23, 1955, in Estherville; the son of Merlin and Veloris (Peterson) Dotson. Brian grew up in the Armstrong-Ringsted area until moving to Humboldt and graduating from Humboldt High School in 1974.

A private graveside service will be held.  A public visitation will be on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, from 4 PM to 8 PM, at the Ed and Betty Wilcox Performing Arts Center.

A memorial fund has been established for the family of Officer Cram at Iowa State Bank, 5 East Call Street, Algona, IA 50511.
