Historical schoolhouse place to see

The historic Riverdale Township Schoolhouse was relocated to the Kossuth County Fairgrounds shortly before the opening day of the 2015 fair.
After a few years of struggling to find an individual or organization to take the Riverdale Township’s former school house, the Kossuth County Fair Board in cooperation with the Kossuth County Historical Society and the Kossuth County Ag and Motorsport Museum, brought the school to its current location just north of the Floral Hall.

The Fair’s unsung heroes

ALGONA — Each year at the Kossuth County Fair, volunteers can be seen doing everything from feeding those who attend to helping with odds and ends to cleaning out the show barns.
In a way they are the unsung heroes of the Kossuth County Fair.
“Volunteers add just one more aspect to making the county fair what it has become over the years,” said Mel Haler, President of the Kossuth County Fair Board. “We can’t do it without them.”

County Fair royal 'family' crowned

In the democracy of the United States, little room is left for the suggestion of a royal family. Dreams of girls everywhere are not dashed as a new royal family of sorts has been crowned at the Kossuth County Fair.

Museum raising funds for foundation

The race is on to find enough funding to remove and replace the crumbling foundation of the Kossuth County Historical Museum located at 122 South Dodge Street.
Since 2012, the Kossuth County Historical Society has been working to raise funds for this project. Shortly after the initial campaign began in 2012, it became obvious to members that enough funds could not be raised at that time, mentioned Amy Frankl-Brandt, Historical Society president.
