Total tax collections to remain steady

ALGONA—The Algona City Council approved a resolution adopting the annual city budget for fiscal year 2024 (July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024) following a public hearing on April 17.

The council approved a reduction of the city’s total property tax levy to $15.641 per $1,000 taxable valuation. However, some residents will see an increase in their taxes due to an increase in their property valuations.
