Attempted traffic stop results in car chase and collision

On September 4, 2023, at 7:39 p.m. an Algona Police officer attempted to make a traffic stop on a Chrysler 300. The driver of the vehicle did not pull over, which led to a 20-minute car chase in southwest Kossuth County. The chase ended north of Whittemore when the suspect’s vehicle collided with two marked patrol vehicles – one from the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Department and one from the Algona Police Department.
