3-Way Fight Finally ended, Lu Verne Favor

Although some of the earliest settlers came as early as 1885 and thereafter, the town of Lu Verne was not platted until 1880.

Valentine Zoelle was the first settler who came down from Irvington in 1870 where he had been working for Sam Reed. He bought 175 acres of land. In 1882 he and his wife dedicated a part of this land to the public then sold it in separate lots for church purposes or for homes.
