 Mary Marjorie “Marge” Logan, 96, formerly of Whittemore, died Sept. 7, 2021, at Season’s Hospice in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was a woman of adventure and strong opinions, leaving the family farm as a teenager to pursue her love of photography and art.
The daughter of Adolph “Sam” Montag and Lauretta (Brodigan) Montag, Marge was born on Sept. 1, 1925, in West Bend. At age 16, she graduated from Presentation Academy in Whittemore. Later, she took correspondence courses in art and attended Milwaukee Area Technical College in Milwaukee. 
A lover of art and photography, after graduating Marge worked for the Emmetsburg Democrat newspaper and then she and a few classmates moved to Mason City, where she worked at a photography studio before moving to Milwaukee. There, she worked for photographers for several years before moving into real estate and then the insurance business. She worked for Milwaukee Insurance for some 20 years.
She was a gifted artist, painting pictures of her own and also volunteering her time to teach painting and floral arranging at a local lifelong learning institute, senior centers and churches.
Marge was preceded in death by her son, Michael; her parents; brothers Larry and Fred; and infant siblings Tim, Ann and Allen.
She is survived by her brother, Patrick, of St. Paul, Minn.; sister-in-law Julie (Larry) Montag, of Omaha, Neb.; and 15 nieces and nephews. 
A graveside memorial service for Marge will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 10, at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery in rural Whittemore. Marge’s and Michael’s ashes will be buried together after the service. 
Those who wish to make a memorial are urged to donate to their favorite art-related charity, or take a moment to foster the love of art in children.
