Marilyn Ann PeCoy, of Britt, formerly from Algona, died Friday, Sept. 16, 2016, at the Hancock County Hospital in Britt at the age of 84.
Marilyn was born on Aug. 10, 1932, in Mason City, Iowa, the daughter of Harold and Clara Price. She spent her early years in Mason City and Algona before her family finally settled in Wesley where she graduated from the Wesley High School in 1950.
She married Orville Weiland on June 8, 1950, and together they had five children, Patricia, David, Betty, Judy and Jon. They were later divorced. On Oct. 14, 1995, she married Donald PeCoy in Algona. They spent many years traveling to various Bluegrass Festivals in their RV. Her love of music was a very important part of her life from singing duets with her sister Beverly to sharing the love of music with her children and grandchildren.
Marilyn was a seamstress, school cook and a home health care aid.  She loved doing embroidery, crocheting and knitting, especially as gifts for her family.
She was a member of the Wesley Community Church and a former member of the United Methodist Church.
She is survived by four children; Patricia Frayne of Clear Lake, David (Susan) Weiland of Algona, Betty (Craig) Erpelding of Algona, Judy (Dave) Weber of Corwith; grandchildren Tara, Marc, Matthew, Ryan, Jill, Candace, Emily, Tyler, Elise, Jacob, Jenna and Jordan; 16 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law Janelle Weiland of Britt; a brother, Duane (JoAnn) Price of Austin, Colo., and her brothers-in-law Duane Vaudt of Clear Lake and Donald Fritz of Britt; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; ex-husband and father of her children, Orville; son, Jon Weiland; sisters, Beverly Fritz, Joan Vaudt and Verla Missal; and son-in-law, Robert Frayne.
