Visitation for Margaret Mary Morland is from 4-7 p.m., Thursday, March 2, at Oakcrest Funeral Services in Algona, with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held Friday, March 3, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Algona. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
Margaret Mary Norland was born on May 28, 1941 in Lansing, Iowa, the daughter of Chester and Frieda (Roeder) Willey. She graduated from Garrigan High School in 1960.
She was united in marriage to William Norland on June 16, 1961. They were blessed with five children; Kimberly, Dawn, David, Keith and Renee. The two were later divorced.
Margaret worked at Kossuth Regional Health Center for 17 years and moved to Texas and worked at the Fort Worth Hospital for a short time.
She enjoyed trips to the casino, playing bingo and bowling league in her younger years. She also enjoyed traveling to Texas to visit her sister, spending time with dogs, and Kimberly stopping by to read to her. Margaret especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of St. Cecelia Catholic Church. Margaret became a resident of the Titonka Care Center on December 26, 2016.
Margaret was very loving, giving and accepting. She gave a smooch and hug for everyone she saw. She never missed singing happy birthday to all those close to her. She also was known for always saying “Love Always.”
Margaret Norland, 75, of Wesley, died Friday evening at the Titonka Care Center.
She is survived by her children; Kimberly (Rene) Norland of Algona, Dawn (Troy) Fox of Burt, David (special friend Tracy) Norland of Corwith, Keith (Melanie) Norland of Pleasant Grove, UT and Renee (special friend Blaine) Sinclair of Wesley; son-in-law, Rob Sinclair of Wesley; grandchildren, Kasondra (Josh) Richter of Coralville, Kyle (Michelle) Norland of Corwith, Emily (Brandon) Norland of Independence, Heather Schulz of Algona, Adam Schulz of Fort Dodge, Jake Fox of Sioux Falls, SD, Josh (Tessa) Fox of San Tan Valley, AZ, Heidi (Orry) Peterson of Bancroft, Michael (Meagan) Norland of Burt, Taylor (Emily) Norland of Bancroft, Seth (Shelby) Norland of Ledyard, Zachary Norland of Burt, Evan and Alex Norland of Pleasant Grove, UT and Ashley (Stephen) Vaske of Algona; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley (Ray) Zepeda of Fort Worth, TX; brother, Robert (Glenda) Willey of Georgetown, OH, brother-in-law, Bill Larson of Fort Worth, TX; sisters-in-law, Diana Webb of Fenton and Donna (Richard) Walters of Estherville and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her parents; ex-husband and best friend, William Norland; twin sister, Millie Larson; younger sister, Jane Willey; sister-in-law, Rojeanne Munson; great-grandson, Kennedy Norland; niece, Linda Zepeda; great-nephew, Tyler Wilson and great-nieces, Ashley Ryan and Jessica Monson.
