I would like to express my great concern regarding Senator Ernst’s remark quoted in the April 15 issue.

Diocese should honor people, not a plan
To the Editor:
Folks in Kossuth County have asked me to submit this letter, because the questions and issues apply as much to Kossuth County as to Carroll County.
When leaders do not know what to do, they hide behind numbers and statistics. It’s all in the metrics, you know. One thing we have learned from this year of the coronavirus is that numbers seem the safe haven of frightened people, who do not know what to do but hope that we will think that their statistics equal leadership. We should learn something from Caseys General Stores.
