Accident Reports

Driver loses consciousness

On Sunday, August 14, Cheryll Jean Ubben, 73, Buffalo Center, was driving a 2020 Ford EDG northbound on 130th Ave. when Ubben lost consciousness and went through a bean field and ended up in the grove of 2601 130th. Algona ambulance was paged but Ubben was not transported. According to the report by Deputy Keith Briggs, the Ford EDG sustained an estimated $7,500 in damages.

Motorcyclist airlifted to hospital

On Sunday, July 24, Jeramie A Faber, 49, Burt, was riding a 2010 Harley Davidson northbound on Plum Creek Road when it lost control on the curve at 140th Ave and came to rest in the north ditch. Faber was ejected off the motorcycle from the side. According to the report by Deputy Caleb Hill, Faber was transported to Mason City Mercy One by Mercy Air. The Harley Davidson sustained an estimated $2,000 in damages.

Head on collison requires AirMed

 

 

On July 13, 2022, at 11:12 p.m., the Kossuth County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call of a head on collision on Hwy 169 about 2 1/2 miles south of Algona. Algona Fire and EMS along with Kossuth County Deputies responded to the scene. Auto Launch was activated, which dispatches an AirMed helicopter to be on standby.
