Late Bulldog rally falls short

Lead Summary

After trailing by 22 points with 6:50 remaining in the game, a wild fourth quarter rally by the Algona Bulldogs fell just short as the Pocahontas Area Indians held on for 70-65 non-conference boys’ basketball win over the red-and-black on Thursday, Jan. 19 at Algona.
Braden Ehn scored on a traditional three-point play to start the game but Spencer Holmes hit a basket to get the home team on the scoreboard.  Pocahontas Area scored five straight points but a three-pointer by Bryce Bradley and a hoop from Jackson Helmers made the score 8-7.
Austin Roetman’s three-point play for the visitors was matched by long trey by Bradley before Roetman scored four straight to make it 15-10.  Bradley again answered with a three-pointer and a hoop from Nick Stein dead-locked the contest at 15-15.
