Kossuth/Palo Alto County Economic Development Corporation is looking forward to 2017!
We will be kicking off the year with our Quarterly Human Resources Committee Meeting. Hosted by K/PACEDC, Mike Koenecke will present, Arming Management to Manage Millennials, Preparing to Navigate through the Inevitable.
As we look to the current workforce, we find that it is the first time in history we have had five generations working together. The presenter, Mike Koenecke will help area professionals understand how to help all generations with varying views, work ethics, and motivations on how to work together toward the common goal.
The meeting will take place on Jan. 18 at K/PACEDC starting at 11:30 a.m. If interested, please RSVP at K/PECEDC Office 515-295-7979 before Jan. 15.
Kossuth/Palo Alto County Economic Development Corp. is also working to coordinate several other upcoming meetings, such as Kossuth and Palo Alto County City Clerks, Career Intern and CEO Steering Committees.
In December, the Kossuth and Palo Alto City Clerks met for their quarterly meeting. They had two presenters at that meeting, Shirley Philips the State Western Iowa Tourism Regional Director who spoke on, “Looking at your community through the eyes of others.”
Walt Reemtsma who showcased his Nativity Sets that he has collected over the years and spoke on his trip to the Holy Land.
We are looking forward to hosting, Brenda Clark Hamilton, Fresh Coffee – Professional Growth Programs for our upcoming City Clerk Meeting in March.
Another major focus this year will be our biennial Ag Education Day set for March 23 at Wild Rose Casino & Resort in Emmetsburg. An impressive lineup of speakers will be presenting on various topics.
We are taking reservations through our office. Please call or e-mail if you have any questions.
Our Summer Intern Program will soon be upon us and preparation for this year’s Intern Program is well under way.  We have great training programs, along with social events to assist interns as they work in Kossuth and Palo Alto Counties over the summer months.
We are looking forward to having Summer Interns in our area to explore area businesses and help them prepare for their transition into the workforce.

Maureen Elbert is the Executive Director of the Kossuth/Palo Alto County Economic Development Corporation
