FORT DODGE—Last year as a sophomore, Algona’s Moriah Knapp finished in 51st place at the Class 3A state cross-country meet with her time of 20:32.7.
But the Bulldog junior showed how she has improved in the last 365 days as she earned medal on Friday, Oct. 29, at the Lakeside Golf Course just north of Fort Dodge.
Knapp ended the 3.1 mile race in 13th place overall of the 133 runners in the event with a career-best clocking of 19:35.52 to get up on the podium as a medal winner as one of the top 15 finishers.
